The growing cooperation between destination governments and third countries to restrict irregular migration before migrants reach their intended destinations is one of the most important trends in modern migration governance. Financial help, aid with border management, coast guard training, intelligence sharing, readmission agreements, and cooperative maritime operations are some examples of this kind of collaboration. Reducing irregular migratory flows, fighting migrant smuggling, and bolstering border security are the main goals of these actions.
